I am Irish, live in Oxford and work in London. I used to write about Albania when I worked in Tirana, which was probably interesting because I was writing about a place and a politics that people had never heard about, and felt very different and far away. It’s harder to write about a place most people feel they know very well, although sometimes I feel as though Britain is more different than I had expected. Hopefully I will find things to write about that are strange and ridiculous enough to keep it interesting.
